Magic Bullet Looks
The Magic Bullet Looks plug-in provides presets and tools for giving your footage the exact “look” you want, often in only a matter of seconds. As we’ll see in this user guide, a large part of Looks revolves around its gallery, called the Looks Drawer. In the Looks Drawer, you’ll find hundreds of cinematic preset looks. Just mouse-over a look to preview it, then click to apply it to your footage. That’s it.
Many Looks users employ these presets and never delve any further into the plug-in. Our presets offer a nearly instantaneous, highly polished solution for color correction and the digital emulation of traditional film and camera effects.
For those who want to pop the hood and achieve granular control over their color mechanics, Looks delivers a revamped color management system, including ACES integration for working with complex post pipelines. You’ll have dozens of tools for color grading and finishing, fine hue control, channel mixing, color remapping, halation, diffusion, and much more, all accompanied by highly intuitive browsers and controls.
Looks lets you organize these tools on a workflow chain, much like building blocks. You can lock down (“pin”) a block when it has the exact characteristics you want while continuing to experiment with other blocks that apply other attributes. This modular approach is amazing for eliminating that “three steps forward, two steps back” approach to color workflow.
In short, Magic Bullet Looks helps take the excess work and time out of color management. Keep reading, and let’s show you how it’s done.
